Job Summary
Responsible for all phases of assigned standard engineering projects, ensuring the successful conclusion of all phases within an appropriate time and at appropriate cost. Performs analyses to develop design options or recommendations for structures, systems and components. Prepares or secures and reviews cost estimates, compiles required cost and equipment information, and writes appropriation requests. Originates formal project requests. Investigates problems and requirements of projects, and develops plans for solutions in line with economic, personnel, and environmental considerations. 3 years related experience.
Position Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (To perform this job successfully, an
individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be
assigned.)
* Support Plant electrical and controls projects in the Packaging and Utilities areas, to confirm consistency with Manufacturing standards and control philosophies. Engineering projects shall:
* Enhance the Quality of ConAgra Foods products, reduce customer complaints, and insure compliance with FDA and USDA regulations and provide adherence to internal Quality and ISO requirements.
* Correct unsafe conditions, enhance the safety and health of our employees and insure compliance with OSHA regulations.
* Improve productivity through efficiency gains, yield improvements, labor utilization, and other rate improvements.
* To insure projects are designed, managed and constructed in accordance with ConAgra Foods Engineering Standards.
* To provide technical support to all operating and maintenance departments to help in trouble shoot and diagnose issue related to PLC and MMI programs. In particular provide technical back up to mechanics in order to solve difficult control problems.
* To facilitate technology transfer from Corporate Engineering, R&D and the Manufacturing Engineering Team to the Manufacturing Operations and Maintenance Teams insuring proper startup and training plans.
* To enhance maintenance processes through equipment and systems analysis in order to identify opportunities for equipment or process modification, equipment replacement, or application of new technology.
* To serve as a Technical Consultant to Manufacturing by analyzing system and equipment failures in order to troubleshoot problems and to facilitate maintenance activities, procedural changes or capital improvements.
* To develop, implement and monitor automation and control strategies and system architecture for the Indianapolis facility.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Attend meetings and participate in Kaizen and FI events.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
* 3-5 years electrical engineering experience
Preferred:
* 5 years Automation and Control Engineering experience in a plant. Corporate Engineering or related experience in a consumer product manufacturing environment, preferably food.
LANGUAGE AND TECHNICAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS
* Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with individuals at all levels of the organization.
* Electrical and Controls Design Engineering experience is a plus.
* Special process control experience in Packaging, Process or Utilities.
