Job Title: Electrical Estimator
CONTRA COSTA ELECTRIC, INC. is seeking candidates for the position of Electrical Estimator. Applications for all experience levels, Junior through Senior is welcome.
As a member of our estimating team you will assist the company in meeting its goals and objectives by performing take-offs and pricing for various project types and sizes to acquire new work. The Estimator may also assist project management as it relates to certain projects and will partner with other employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare quantity take-offs of electrical and low voltage systems
Prepare detailed estimates including assigning material and labor values to take-offs
Acquire vendor pricing on specialty materials, equipment and systems
Evaluate and assist with subcontractor and vendor scope and pricing review
Participate and or coordinate in project kick-off and turn-over meetings
Comply with all company operating policies and procedures.
Perform additional assignments as directed by Chief Estimator
Maintains positive working relationships with clients, building owners, contractors, consultants, vendors and partners.
A combination of education, training and experience in cost estimating electrical construction (a four year degree in Engineering, Construction Technology or a related field is desirable)
Experienced applicants must have a minimum of 2+ years working for an electrical contractor with direct experience in estimating electrical construction projects as an Estimator.
Knowledge of electrical power, lighting and low voltage electrical systems
Candidate must possess a thorough understanding of electrical design documents in various stages of design completion
Must be skilled in prioritizing, problem solving, multi-tasking and organizing.
Excellent communication and computer skills are required.
Computer Applications used to perform daily tasks:
Microsoft Office applications
Working knowledge of Accubid estimating software is proffered
Other Databases as needed
