Our Dearborn Works facility is seeking an Electrical Process Control Engineer. The Dearborn Works is located on a more than 350-acre site in southeast Michigan. Its carbon steel melting, casting, hot and cold rolling, and finishing operations are capable of producing 3.6 million net tons of hot rolled, 2.1 million net tons of cold rolled, 1.1 million net tons of galvanized and galvannealed sheet each year.


Provide technical service to Operating and Maintenance activities; investigate and analyze failures and recommend corrective actions.

Monitor and analyze equipment operations for potential problems, initiate corrective actions or recommendations as required.

Investigate plant electrical trip outs, provide engineering analysis and solution.

Investigate state-of-the-art techniques, recommend and implement.

Assist in the start-up and commissioning of new projects.

Troubleshooting and upgrading of equipment and mill systems.

Specify and assist in installation, start-up and troubleshooting of PLCs, drives and automation systems.

Design, install and provide ongoing enhancements to plant automation control systems (PLCs, DCS, DC Drives and microprocessor based devices).

All other duties as assigned


BSEE degree or higher

Five years of related experience in a steel related industry or electrical utilities

Familiarity with National Electric Code (NEC) and heavy industrialelectricalconstruction

PLC experiencerequired, especially Allen Bradley and GE

Familiarity with MS Excel and MS Projects or equivalent software

Must have excellent communication skills and be energetic and self motivated
