The Electronic Technician III duties include but not limited to:
Works for and reports to the Site Manager.
A working first line supervisor. Responsible for all repair and maintenance of the COMS trainers including but not limited to supervising and technically assisting other technicians, performing upgrades and revisions.
Performs operations and maintenance to include large scale integration video display systems, analog to digital integration, high density cable and plug repair, and software maintenance.
Performs comprehensive troubleshooting and repair of electronic systems to included but not limited to; Trainer Unique Equipment (TUE), Embedded Technical Training Equipment (ETTE), and consumables.
Maintains accurate day to day records. Provides the necessary monthly reports and keeps an accurate inventory of spares.
This position may also perform the requirements of a Shift Supervisor.
As a supervisor must be capable of disciplining employees in accordance with Cubic's policies. The supervisor must be able to handle the pressure of real time training.
Provides a resource of knowledge, experience and guidance to lower level Technicians to facilitate their professional training and capabilities.
Performs other tasking as required or assigned by the Site Manager.
Requires mental alertness and ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English. Physical ability to walk on rugged, un-level surfaces, stand and/or sit for extended periods of time, and to climb two (2) flights of stairs and ladders is required. The ability to lift and carry 75 pounds is required.
Must present a professional appearance in demeanor and dress at all times.
Have demonstrated competence through satisfactory, progressive performance as a simulator technician. Minimum experience shall be exclusive of formalized training and must include six (6) years simulator maintenance of which two (2) years demonstrate complex maintenance equivalent to all major electronic areas, systems and subsystems outlined in the F-18 Task Order (i.e. PC networking, component level electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics and electro-mechanical experience). Graduated from a two year electronic technician resident course at an accredited technical institute or completed factory/formal on devices located at the site. Have demonstrated networking and maintenance experience on simulator computer systems or equal in complexity to those computer systems outlined in the PWS. Position desires an Information Assurance (IA) certification of A+; a Security + is preferred.
Applicant must be a US citizen, possess the ability to obtain a US passport and must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
Applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to receive and maintain a minimum of a SECRET clearance for access to classified information.
