This opportunity is within the Aerospace, Transportation and Advanced Systems Lab ( ATAS ). ATAS conducts research for government and industry customers in aerodynamics, radar and weapons systems, food processing technology, unmanned systems and modeling of social systems.
INTERNAL TITLE: Research Engineer/Scientist I or II, or Senior Research Engineer/Scientist
Conceive, design, develop, test and present embedded software solutions. The role will be to provide your engineering expertise to conceive, design, develop, test and deliver embedded software solutions for a variety of projects. This will include embedded programming, digital electronics design, FPGA programming and digital communications.
REQUIREMENTS THAT MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
- BS, MS or PhD with degree in EE, ECE, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- US Citizenship AND/ OR the ability to get a security clearance
- Significant hands on experience with embedded software development, FPGA programming and the full life cycle development and test
- Requires project/task management, writing & presentation skills, documentation, report and proposal preparation.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in digital signal processing DSP, modeling and simulation, instrumentation integration, telemetry, data links, and network systems also desirable.
