Nature of the Job Basic Purpose & Objective of the Position * Under minimum supervision, maintain cleanliness and stocking of the Employee Dining Room and assist with serving of food to employees. Ensure accurate, timely and superior service is provided to internal guests. Main Duties Customer Services * Delivers the brand promise and provides exceptional guest service at all times. * Provides excellent service to internal customers. * Handles all guest and employee complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner. Communicates immediately all guest complaints to the In Room Dining & Restaurant Manager. * Maintains positive guest and colleague interactions with good working relationships. Financial * Ensures that all hotel, company and local rules, policies and regulations relating to money handling and licensing are adhered to. Operational * Delivers internal and external guest service the Pinnacle Way. Always exhibit a friendly and approachable demeanor. Be polite and courteous when speaking with guests and team members. Looks for and acts upon opportunities to assist guests and team members. Be sincere and genuine during all interactions. Be prepared with the knowledge and skill required to be responsive to guests and team member's needs and questions. * Guest interaction is a must. Must engage the internal guest each time they come to the buffet line. Explains product, asks questions and builds positive relationships with the guest. * Coordinates with cooks and other restaurant personnel to ensure EDR is adequately stocked and maintained as clean and orderly. * Replenishes and garnishes food on the hot and cold buffet lines as necessary. * Serves food as necessary. * Maintains a neat and sanitary appearance of assigned work area, serving utensils and equipment. * Ensures all dishware, utensils and equipment are cleaned and stored properly at the end of shift. * Ensures all unused food items are stored properly. * Maintains work area in a safe condition, taking care of spills and other hazards as necessary. * Ensures dining and serving areas are set up, stocked and maintained according to standard throughout shift. * Transports bus tubs and carts to dishwashing area. * Assists the stewards with the unloading and cleaning of bus tubs and carts. * Shift ending cleaning duties and side work. * Observes and adheres to Health Department regulations regarding food handling, storage, proper steam table temperature, and cleanliness of work environment. * Maintains a well-groomed, neat and clean appearance. * Possesses the resiliency to deal with difficult guests in all types of business conditions and possess the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers. * Performs all job functions in conjunction with the guidelines describes in the Standard Operating Procedures manual to ensure consistent execution of company and department standards. * Performs other duties as assigned by management. *Temperature generally is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10°F) and kitchens (+110°F), possibly for one hour or more. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task. * Ability to physically handle knives, pots, mirrors, or other display items as well as grasp, lift and carry same from shelves and otherwise transport up to 50 pounds to every area of the kitchen.
