Position Summary: Provide effective employee and labor relations consultative services to all region locations. Provide guidance on employee policies and practices. Conduct investigations in response to employee complaints, employment litigation, and workplace violations. Participate in and lead the local grievance process for organized workgroups. Provide consultation and guidance on approaches to build employee engagement and a positive work climate.Core Responsibilities:Partner with the regional HR Business Partners to drive employee engagement initiatives. Provide subject matter expertise in the areas of employee engagement and labor management relations. Lead and manage an ER/LR business partner and together, operate as an internal case management team. The ER/LR team will focus on investigating employee complaints, handling grievances, responding to employment claims (e.g. unemployment, wage and hour, DFEH, EEOC, etc.,) employee terminations and facilitate positive work climate initiatives. Conduct local investigations in response to employee complaints, employment litigation, and workplace violations. Follow standard protocol for investigations and develop comprehensive reports and recommendations for area management. Research past practices and appropriate federal, state and local laws.Lead local grievance process activities. Provide guidance to area management and support development of company responses at each grievance step. Work with the HR Director to ensure the company's position on all grievances filed places the company in the best defensible position. Maintain historical grievance database for future reference.Participate in unemployment claim hearings. Work with outside vendor to ensure company holds the best defensible position prior to hearings. Ensure maintenance of appropriate historical information for future reference.Provide guidance and project management expertise for the annual CredoSpeak employee survey. Develop appropriate communication and training materials prior to administration. Provide expertise with interpretation and analysis of feedback data. Develop and support the implementation of new employee engagement initiatives aimed at enhancing the employee work experience and enabling supervisors to build stronger team relationships.Provide subject matter expertise with the facilitation of employee focus groups, chat sessions, and skip level meetings. Provide meeting recaps to local management along with recommendations for action and follow-up. Required Skills: Minimum requirements:Bachelor's degree in related human resources discipline or equivalent education, HR certifications and work experience.Significant HR experience in a professional capacity supporting a field organization with effective skills and competencies in employee relations and labor relations.Demonstrated capabilities in leading effective employee focus group meetings.Exceptional customer service orientation.Seasoned consultative skills.Demonstrated project management and implementation skills.Highly effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated presentation skills.Demonstrated results orientation.Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.Strong knowledge of Utah and Federal employment laws.Knowledge and proficiency of PC skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree.Ten or more years of HR experience.Demonstrated capability in union grievance process management.
