Job Description

RTI International s Facility Strategic Services (FSS) team, located in the RTP, is offering a paid student internship (co-op) from September December 2016. The student filling this position will handle a wide range of important duties.


* Work with Facilities Engineering on the development of Corporate sustainability report

* Support entire FSS team from support of Facilities Engineering, Operations, and Financial Analyst

* Evaluate data for finance team to perform analysis of financial data, and analyze process workflows to enhance financial efficiencies.

* Evaluate and update the building energy use equations based on CDD and HDD as well as look for additional predictive drivers.

* Work with FSS team to utilize data management techniques for automatic fault detection and financial data analysis.

* Work with FSS team to implement document control for department.

* Develop timeline to maintain sustainability report including data.

* Develop Intern Manual detailing training and knowledge for future interns.

Additional Information

This paid internship is located in our Research Triangle Park, NC office, beginning September 2016 through December 2016. This internship requires a commitment of 15-30 hours per week.

* Currently enrolled student; preference given to graduate students and advanced undergraduates (juniors or seniors) studying engineering, environmental sciences, energy analytics, or related field.

* Proven ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple engagements simultaneously.

* Prospect must demonstrate interest in Sustainability, HVAC, Utility Generation and Distribution Systems, Building Automation Systems, and the troubleshooting and interconnection of systems.

* Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office, Excel, MATLAB, SQL, Access, C and/or Python.

* Must possess strong written and verbal, as well as organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
