Superior Group is looking for Engineer III for our Client located in Wallops, VA.

Candidate will be responsible for supporting final system integration and test activities for various Client launch vehicles.
Specific duties may include: support developing of processes and procedures for the assembly and test of launch vehicle systems; documenting and dispositioning hardware discrepancies and pursuing root cause and corrective actions
Supporting required MRB processing; perform inspection of components and assemblies; support integration activities with supervisors, program engineers and various customer organizations
Review design changes on WIP or completed assemblies; Conceive and develop solutions to quality issues relative to component design, integration, test, and quality/management systems.
Evaluate critical subcontractor capabilities to provide products and services.
Establish and maintain quality assurance programs, procedures, and controls ensuring that products and services conform to company standards of excellence.
Work to ensure internal and external requirements are understood, planned and implemented.
Collaborate in Quality Planning and prepare Quality Planning portion of new business proposals if asked.
Perform system and supplier audits.
Or Lead Walk the Process Activity or Continuous Improvement Projects.
Initiate and ensure corrective/preventive action.
Provide support to inspection and quality engineering.
Review and approve engineering and manufacturing documentation.
Ability to review and disposition non-conforming material.
Occasional business travel.
Work experience in quality management systems (e.g. AS9100, ISO9001, and TS16949) and other related standards.
Candidate must possess excellent written and oral communications, along with interpersonal skills that aid in achieving both primary and multi-departmental goals.
Candidate must be able to take direction and apply learning in the field of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline, as it relates to hardware manufacturing, integration and testing.
Required skills include the ability to communicate clearly, to write clear and technically accurate work instructions, and to use critical thinking to troubleshoot problems.

Required Skills / Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
Minimum of 4 years’ experience as Engineer.
Minimum of 1 year experience in supervisory.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

Ideal candidate shall possess related work experience working with launch site integration, hazardous materials, mechanical assemblies, machined/formed parts, and composite structures and tooling.
Candidate should have a demonstrated ability to work with minimal oversight and in a multi-discipline team environment, providing insight and solutions to complicated issues both technical and procedural.
Work related experience should demonstrate increasing levels of responsibility.
Extensive Root Cause and Problem Solving experience.
Knowledge of Word, Excel, and Windows.
Basic PC skills.
Knowledge of Database programs and common email programs.
