* Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking an Engineer Mission Assurance 5 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals\. This position will be located in San Diego, California\.Realize the rewards of conquering a new challenge\. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Mission Assurance organization\. As part of the MA organization, you will be a member of the team responsible for defining and monitoring program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of programs\.Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provides technical solutions which support Quality Management System \(QMS\) functions on Department of Defense \(DOD\) hardware/systems engineering, development, test, integration, and production programs\. Utilize customer and NGIS policies and procedures, such as AS9100 and CMMI Level 5 requirements, to help realize those solutions\.- Ensures Mission/Quality Assurance and Hardware engineering leadership throughout the development, review, delivery, and maintenance cycles for program CDRL deliverables, internal plans, Gate Reviews, risk\-based process audits, Corrective and Preventive action System \(CPAS\), Quality Evaluation Report \(QER\) records, and other process artifacts\.- Works with the MA and program management teams to define, gather, evaluate, and effectively present process and quality metrics to assist with program efficiency, effectiveness, and continuous improvement\.Basic Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Systems Engineering from an accredited college \(will consider other related STEM degrees\)\. Minimum of 14 years demonstrated experience\.- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, procedures and production, processing, material handling, inspection of materials upon receipt, screening for counterfeit parts and materials, documentation of acceptance and rejection of material, resolution of non\-conformances, and Quality Assurance, Mission Assurance, Configuration Management/Data Management functions\.- Experience selecting and coordinating key metrics and presenting meaningful data for project reviews, and ability to generate and analyze quantitative data\. Excellent written and verbal interpersonal, communication, leadership, and mentoring skills and confidence to brief upper management\. Maintains close customer relations\. Engages with Defense Contract Management Agency \(DCMA\) representatives to support data requests and keep them informed of appropriate program activities\.- Proven experience in Supply Chain Management and/or experience assessing and auditing suppliers in a collaborative teaming environment\. Coordinates Supplier Mission Assurance plans for subcontractors and suppliers to include audit reporting, initiating root cause analysis, and assuring supplier improvement efforts from action plans\.- Demonstrated ability to drive risk mitigation, opportunity capture, and issues resolution across all stakeholder disciplines throughout all phases of the product development lifecycle on fast paced, complex, dynamic, high visibility programs\. Develop/support Return\-To\-Green \(RTG\) plans for successful return of program performance\.- Advocates and implements continuous improvement opportunities, providing leadership and guidance to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of program performance\. Hands\-on experience developing, reviewing and auditing SEI CMMI Level 5 and/or AS9100 compliant plans and processes\. Experience using Lean Six Sigma and/or other process improvement methodologies\.- Experience with overall program management execution including planning, cost and schedule management, technical performance, supplier management, risk and opportunity management, tools \(MS office \- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project\), and the preparation of proposals\.- Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance\.Preferred Qualifications:
