* The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Ground Based Midcourse Defense \(GMD\) Developmentand Sustainment Contract \(DSC\) in support of the Missile Defense Agency\. The GMD element, composed of the GroundSystems \(GS\) and Ground Based Interceptor \(GBI\) components, is a critical part of our nation's layered BallisticMissile Defense System providing the U\.S\. with the capability to engage and intercept long range ballistic missiles duringmidcourse flight\. The Test Exerciser \(TEx\) team is looking for a Software Engineer 2 to provide Ada software developmentsupport\. TEx provides the test environment necessary for GS \(GFC, CLE, IDT\) testing by providing realistic models ofthreat and BMDS components\.Position Description:
- Architects, designs, develops, integrates, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that containlogical and mathematical solutions\.- Analyzes system software capabilities to resolve problems during the software development integration effort, developto new requirements, prepare software development packages for peer review inspections, develop and execute unittesting\.- Review and implement results from requirements analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, andinterface definition studies\.- Perform database design and modeling updates\.- Ancillary duties may include maintaining system documentation, reviewing requirement and certification documentation,providing test and integration support, and working proficiently in a UNIX/LINUX environment\.- Ensures software standards are met\.Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematicalsolutions\. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineersin the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercialsoftware\. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, outputrequirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs anddevelops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems\. Ensures software standards are met\.GMDLPBasic Qualifications:
2 Years experience with Bachelors in Science in Computer Science, Math, STEM or other related Technical Engineering discipline; or0 Years experience with Masters\. Current NG employees must possess four additional years of experience in lieu of a degree\.- Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to get a Secret Clearance\.- Design, develop, integrate, and test Ada software in a Unix/Linux environment- Experience with software version control tools, such as ClearCase- Strong written, communication and interpersonal skills\.- Strong problem solving skills\.-Motivated self\-starter with ability to work in collaborative team environmentPreferred Qualifications:
