Responsibilities:Manages infrastructure related to networks and related hardware and software to ensure availability, recoverability, performance, integrity and supportability through production support and maintenance of existing network and development and implementation of network enhancements
Troubleshoots straightforward networking problems independently by investigating underlying problems
Designs networking infrastructure and interfaces to external networks
Participates in the design of new or modified LANs/WANs and advises on network design
Provides cost/benefit analysis on moderately to highly complex projects
Participates in evaluation of vendor proposals
Conducts network studies and performance analyses and recommends changes
Advises developers in design of new applications by providing expertise on systems
capabilities and constraints
May function in a lead capacity within department and represent department in workflow, escalation discussions with others
Leads implementation and deployment efforts on intermediate projects Qualifications:Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent training and experience in Electrical or Computer science
Approximately 6-9 years experience in Network Planning, Designing & Engineering
CCNAand CCNP preferred Other Information:Assist in design, and implementation of new systems or a significant enhancement to an existing systems. Responsible for working closely across multiple client teams to understand, negotiate, prioritize, and flush out the complexities and intricacies of a project and to be a liaison between clients and the engineering team. Assist in developing and shaping solutions that solve business/technical problems and are scalable for future expansions. Define and document requirements, process flows and diagrams, create use cases using standard modeling formats, research and prioritize user requirements and functional requirements, and manage the testing and testing processes. The selected candidate will have a wide gamut of testing experience in their background with the ability to apply past experience to current situations. Work closely with development, and QC teams through project strategy, planning, design and execution phases to ensure clear communication and close coordination of testing. Also works closely with clients and project management to manage timeline and scope Assist in change management; communicating with SAMS to ensure understanding and scope of changes proposed by the engineering team. Experience as a team member using agile methodologies; Kanban or Scrum, either in a development or infrastructure environment. Strong Linux background, as a system administrator or engineer Strong QA/testing experience. Understand how to write test cases, and have actually done it, as well as been responsible for running tests in a QA environment, not solely for software Need to have hardware experience 3 years working as a sys admin or engineer in a scaled infrastructure with broad and extensive experience in Linux and Windows. Should have worked with networking, storage, servers and been exposed to HA, load balancing, and network file systems Broad and extensive experience as a systems administrator in Linux and Windows. Should also have a solid background in creating and executing QA test cases, and writing associated reports. Knowledge of and working experience with directory services and databases At least 2 years working in a QC test environment, creating test cases, executing and reporting. Experience should include both hardware and software. 2 years working with system design and requirements gathering. Working knowledge of tools like mediawiki, sharepoint, google sites. Tech writing experience a plus.
