* Northrop Grumman Information Systems Sector is seeking a Systems Engineer 2 to join our team in Huntsville, AL\.The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Ground Based Midcourse Defense \(GMD\) Development and Sustainment Contract \(DSC\) in support of the Missile Defense Agency\. The GMD element, composed of the Ground Systems \(GS\) and Ground Based Interceptor \(GBI\) components, is a critical part of our nation's layered Ballistic Missile Defense System \(BMDS\) providing the U\.S\. with the capability to engage and intercept long range ballistic missiles during midcourse flight\.The Non\-Tactical Equipment \(NTE\) system is used in flight tests to monitor various data from launch to endgame\.The NTE system interfaces with the GBI silo, and range safety for status and commanding of the interceptor\.

* Position Description:

* The NTE System Engineer \(SE\) is responsible for the NTE system \(component, subsystem, analytical product, interface, and software product or other end\- item\) and is responsible for the technical performance and pedigree assessment of the product\.The SE must be aware of all activities associated with the design, test configuration, qualification, certification, operation, vulnerability and requirements of their product or products\.Additional tasks include:
+ Create product engineering drawings and documentation+ Interface with other Integrated Product Teams to accomplish multi\-discipline testing/troubleshooting+ Troubleshoot problems in multiple locations+ Assure the completeness and correctness of the interface, design, analysis, and test requirements for their product\(s\)+ Assure adequate testing and analysis to validate and verify that the design meets the requirements+ Coordinate, review and verify the pedigree of all assigned components, products, parts, and materials+ Review all test requirements, test plans and procedures and assure they fully verify the health and performance of the end\-item+ Review, assess related open paper, Non\-Conformance \(NC\), test incident report \(TIR\) sibling issues, issues/ actions, and Mission Assurance/ Product Independent Assessment Team \(MA/ PIAT\) findings with special focus on all use\-as\-is \(UAI\), acceptable condition \(A/C\) and Un\-Verifiable Failure \(UVF\) dispositions, for all assigned components/ products/ subsystems etcGMDLP- - -

* Basic Qualifications
*
* \- To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM or Engineering discipline or field with 2 \- 5 years of related experience\. Current NG employees must possess four additional years of experience in lieu of a degree\.
- Possess a Secret Security Clearance\.
- Understanding of software design/drawings, debugging, and troubleshooting
- Understanding of hardware design/drawings, debugging, and troubleshooting
- Windows 7 System Administration
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills\.
- Strong problem solving skills
