SUMMARY
Under limited supervision, the Engineer Test uses acquired Electrical Engineering skills to work closely with design and project engineers in the development of test procedures, processes and testers that are comprehensive, efficient and reliable in the effort to increase the test yield at the system level.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Works with Engineering in developing the appropriate design for test methodology for new and existing products
2. Develops and validates Automated Test Programs and fixtures, as well as leads the selection of suitable test equipment for the manufacturing test process
3. Coordinates with manufacturing floor and Failure Review Board team in reviewing test failure data and develops methods to continually reduce and eliminate test escapes
4. Writes detailed test procedures needed for manufacturing test
5. Provides training and guidance to manufacturing test group on proper use of test equipment and/or fixtures
6. Provides estimates of labor and material required to satisfy proposal and contract requirements
7. Coordinates and/or assists design engineers as needed on new product qualification tasks
8. Assists manufacturing test technicians in trouble shooting, and/or repair failed test equipment and/or electronic assemblies
9. Performs other duties as assigned by Management
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 1. Proficient in writing and/or creating Lab-View or equivalent test program for Automated Test Equipment.
2. Knowledge of drawings, parts lists, engineering orders, wiring lists, diagrams, schematics and repair procedures are required.
3. Extensive knowledge of related test equipment used to test power and digital systems.
4. Demonstrated skill in preparation of test procedures, troubleshooting complex electronic systems, and related test engineering tasks to ensure product's performance meets customer requirements.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Experience in high power applications. 4-6 years experience in test engineering or technician role. DoD contractor test experience desired.
