Test Engineer Co-op

General Summary: Responsible for building prototypes, conducting tests, and documenting test results. Position will be nearly entirely hands-on working in the engineering test lab.


-Assist in the development of new products and support of existing products through R&D testing of products.

-Work with engineers in determining test procedures and expected results.

-Identify issues and propose solutions based on test results.

-Design and Assemble test units and set up tests.

-Document test results.

-Maintain a safe and clean test lab.

Typical Projects: Conducting performance tests such as airflow, heating, cooling, sound, wind driven rain tests. Assist with prototype builds and test setups. Other testing includes component testing, field problem testing, and value engineering testing.

Manufacturing Engineer Co-op

General Summary: Enhance factory productivity, cost reduction and Greenheck product quality through the analysis, continued improvement and implementation of manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, material flow, plant layout, methods and product design.

Responsibilities: Support Greenheck Production System (GPS) including: Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Design for Excellence and Maintenance Excellence. Improve manufacturing efficiency by improving work methods, labor standards, material flow, and routings. Work with shop floor personnel and design engineers to decrease costs, increase production, reduce waste and refine product design. Develop standard operating procedures for various manufacturing processes. (SOP s) Provide analysis data to procure new or upgrade equipment and tooling to achieve maximum capacity, productivity and cost reduction.

Typical Projects:

Resolve current continuous improvement projects. Resolve corrective action requests. Continually improve Greenheck designs.

Application Engineer Co-op

General Summary:

Assists product manager in the areas of product planning and development, coordination of application support, special designs and product and application training programs for the respective product family and its channels

Small, focused projects that can make marketing more efficient.

Automate Customer Service Tools to help solve the reps questions faster:

-Drive Selection and change out

-Motor Drawing / Wiring Diagram / Spec Sheet

-Fan Curve Generator with ability to enter field T&B values.

Organize folders and labeling by unit/model of shop photos (taken by Mike) to be used as a reference tool/ provide to reps (picture library of actual units and installation).

Verify that all catalogs and IOM s are listed correctly on under all FV product models- update as needed.

Product Development Engineer Co-op

General Summary: Assist the product development engineer through all stages of product development. Aids in the development of new products, redesigned products, and special design requests. Participate in cost reduction and quality improvement projects. Provide technical support for shop floor problems and field problems.

Responsibilities: Participate in shop floor problem resolutions. Assist in field problem resolutions which may include travel to jobsites and interfacing with customers along with generating a corrective action to reconcile any outstanding issues. Participate in value engineering projects. Aid in agency approval of products including AMCA and UL.

Assist with laboratory testing of products which includes: structural, electrical, air performance, and sound performance testing. Interpret test data, write technical reports and communicate results to engineers. Fabricate and assemble new product prototypes and provide feedback regarding designs.

Typical Projects: Product testing, product demonstration design/construction, engineering documentation, product design/re-design, analysis of returned goods and value engineering projects

Procurement Engineer Co-op

General Summary: The individual in this position is responsible for component part naming and classification, reducing product costs, maintaining product quality, and continuous product enhancements focused on quality, product design, and value engineering issues.

Responsibilities: Serves as a technical resource for Greenheck s Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Engineering Departments.

Aids in the location, qualification and approval of new suppliers.

Works to assure integration between engineering and procurement on new products and changes in purchased component design.

Utilizes the Design for Excellence (DFX) tools during new product redesigns and value engineering projects to assure cost effective, manufacturable designs.

Communicates critical and significant attributes to suppliers in collaboration with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Quality.

Specify, justify, and procure new or upgrade existing tooling and equipment to achieve productivity, quality or cost reduction goals.

Works with Greenheck suppliers to resolve quality deficiencies, develop material specifications and assure consistent quality in materials and products are used in our manufacturing operations.

Prepares and documents, in conjunction with the business units, critical processes to be ISO capable and creates Material Specifications on critical items.

Analyzes quality trends (field problems, CARS, supplier quality, etc.) and implements corrective action steps.

Work closely with overseas and domestic suppliers to insure Quality standards are met and maintained and accurate descriptions and drawings are loaded into SAP system.
