As a ENGINEERING PROJECT MANAGER FOR PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT you will lead Product Development projects for new or improved products. In addition to leading projects, you will help design and implement an improved project management process, including building out the templates, tools and dashboards to support product development from feasibility study to production release, following the New Product Development process. You will be responsible for completing projects within time, cost and performance constraints that are acceptable to internal and external customers. During project execution you will identify and resolve any issues and conflicts within project teams. If during the execution of a project potential for improvements to the New Product Development process are identified, you will propose changes such that the process is improved.

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THIS POSITION:

* Lead planning and execution of development projects, from the concept phase to production release.
* Suggest improvements to the New Product Development Process.
* Work with other project managers on the creation of standard tools, templates, metrics and dashboards to monitor projects.
* Create the project plans for each approved product development effort.
* Apply advanced project management skills to hardware, software and system projects.
* Establish, maintains and communicates program milestones and timelines.
* Manage risk including monitoring the program critical path and contingency planning; assists management with resource planning.
* Execute assigned project tasks including technical and business work products.
* Ensure development teams meet interim and final deliverables.
* Prepare and presents project status to senior management staff, including progress, problems, project risk and potential risk mitigation plans.
* Implement product development process improvements with the goals of reducing project cycle times while continuing to meet internal needs.
* Mentors and trains other employees to implement and improve standard product development and projectmanagement practices across the company; drives the discipline needed for project execution excellence (Agile, Lean).
* Provide an open environment and promotes teamwork across the organization; acts as a catalyst to remove organizational barriers.
* Assist with special projects as requested and performs additional duties as required.
* Serve as a cross-functional project manager, responsible for coordinating efforts of Core and Extended Team members from across the organization to achieve program objectives.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED IN THIS POSITION:

* B.S. degree, required, preferably technical in nature (engineering).
* An advanced degree is desired with an MBA a plus.
* Seven or more (7+) years of experience in product development.
* Four or more (4+) years of experience and demonstrated success as a project manager for product development teams.
* Strong organizational skills and ability to solve ambiguous situations.
* Strong presentation and influence skills.
* Ability to lead and influence in a matrix environment without direct authority over team members.
* Organizational, planning and detail follow-up skills required; demonstrated ability to plan a project and execute to a timeline.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while juggling multiple projects.
* Maintain broad knowledge of principles and best practices in electrical, mechanical, software and cloud functionality.
* Experience in project management techniques for development of communications products (hardware, software and cloud-based) desired.
* Competency with project planning softwarerequired.
