JOB SUMMARY:

This position is for a highly skilled and experienced specialist who will support a multi-disciplinary engineering team developing state-of-the art vacuum and pressure measurement instrumentation. Key activities will include design, fabrication, assembly, test, and troubleshooting prototype electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, and specialized test equipment. JOB DETAILS:

Build, modify and test prototype hardware including PCBA s, sensors, and instruments.
*

Perform mechanical assembly, calibration, test and troubleshooting of precision instruments.
*

Setup experiments, collect data, analyze and generate reports.
*

Perform product qualification testing, develop test procedure and documentation.
*

Interface with Operations team to transition products into production and help to diagnose and resolve design-related issues.
*

Manage engineering lab, including equipment calibration and maintaining lab supplies.



JOB REQUIREMENTS:

*

ASEE or equivalent with 5+ years of experience.
*

Knowledge of electronic theory, ability to read schematics, solid understanding of analog and digital circuits.
*

Advanced soldering skills including experience working with fine-pitch surface mount components.
*

Experience with electronics lab instrumentation, including mixed signal scopes, signal generators, logic analyzers, and data acquisition equipment.
*

Experience with mechanical assembly, tools and mechanisms.
*

Ability to work with minimum supervision while juggling multiple priorities.
*

Good problem solving and oral/written communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

*

Ability to troubleshoot analog and digital PCBA s down to component level.
*

Experience initiating ECO s and creating/modifying product BOMs and structures.
*

Labview or MATLAB experience.
*

Experience with vacuum technology.
