Position Summary: The Hilton Indian Lakes Resort in Bloomingdale, IL seeks a positive, service-oriented, energetic and self-motivated Engineering Technician to join our team on a full-time basis. The Engineering Technician will report to the Chief Engineer and will work closely with the Engineering and Guest Services team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Catches calls from guests and/or employees and coordinates service in a timely and efficient manner. * Provides friendly customer service to all guests and coworkers. All employees are required to greet and smile at each guest they encounter. Room calls are to be completed in a timely manner and maintain our high standard of quality. * Checks that all equipment is functioning properly at all times and that the preventative maintenance program is followed / documented. Routine scheduled duties include guest room reviews / repairs, monthly maintenance / cleaning of ice machines, HVAC air filters, in room heating / air conditioning filters, maintenance / cleaning of commercial laundry machines and other related hotel equipment. * Performs assigned daily tasks, such as changing light bulbs, collecting / disposing of waste, repairs to guest rooms including wallpaper / paint, drywall, furniture / hardware and general maintenance throughout the hotel. * Responsible for identifying items which need maintenance / repair / improvement and complete the task and / or recommend appropriate action to the Chief Engineer / General Manager. * Maintain security of all keys, radios, tools and other assigned department property. * Visually inspect, monitor, maintain and test all emergency and life safety systems. * Performs other tasks as assigned by the Chief Engineer / General Manager.
