Reporting to the Bursar Director, the Associate Bursar Director will have the following additional responsibles as well as the duties in the CUNY
Assists the Bursar Director with the overall operation of the Bursar's office, which consists of a staff of sixteen employees.
Manages the front line cashiering operation and related service oriented functions (such as distribution of metro cards).
Meets with individual students who have inquiries regarding their tuition and fee accounts and responding to email inquiries from students.
Serves as contact person for IRS Form 1098-T inquiries.
Assists the Bursar Director with communications pertaining to bill payment and the pre-collection process.
Runs queries and prepares data as requested by the Bursar Director.
Supervises the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) certification unit.
Assists the Bursar Director with the registration cancellation process.
Presents bill payment information at student orientations and workshops.
Other duties as assigned.
Evening/weekend hours may be required.
Bachelor's Degree and six years' related experience required.
Master in Business Administration preferred.
Strong knowledge of CUNYfirst Campus Solutions.
Advanced Excel and Microsoft Access skills.
Ability to take initiative and use sound judgment to make decisions.
Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Strong customer service skills.
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW:
Manages a College student accounts function and related activities.
Participates in developing and implementing strategies, policies and procedures to ensure the prompt billing and timely collection of student receivables
Manages daily office operations; supervises the accuracy and security of student revenue transactions; enforces College and University policies regarding the collection of tuition and fees
Analyzes office performance against revenue targets and other relevant benchmarks; recommends and implements improvements
Assists management with developing strategic plans, evaluating outcomes and ensuring compliance with legal requirements
Prepares analytical and statistical reports for management
May serve as College's Return to Title IV Compliance Officer
May manage professional and/or clerical staff
Performs related duties as assigned.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Salary $55,602 - $88,418
