Description of Work:




The Decision Services & Integration Team advances Steward s mission of providing world class healthcare in the community by delivering relevant information to key stakeholders to drive improvements in care quality, operational effectiveness, and risk management. The Enterprise Data Architect will: Lead data architecture and design for the reporting, analytics, and decision support systems of a large integrated deliver network including 8+ community hospitals and 3,000+ providers. Gather requirements by collaborating with colleagues, management, clinicians, and other stakeholders. Design conceptual and logical models for Steward s Business Intelligence platform Develop physical database designs Lead the design and execution of Master Data Management solutions Drive improvements in data quality Key Responsibilities Manage, design, configure, and tune data models, database structures, query objects, analytic services, and internal systems to meet strategic organization objectives Active project team member working with development and business analysis resources to define business requirements and create specification, including logical and physical data models Conduct reviews of development projects to understand data model implications Partner with development teams and business users to understand data quality drivers and design and execution solutions to address challenges Understand end user requirements and translate to data architecture requirements Understand database design principles including normalization, referential integrity, and aggregation for data warehouse schemas to support the application development. Create solutions for patient and physician master challenges and define the process steps, roles, fields, governance requirements, authorizations, and timings of these functions. Standardizes use of tools and semantic layers, so that database architectures and designs are compliant with corporate objectives for data integrity and quality, performance, management, elasticity, etc.

Qualifications Required:




Strong relational and dimensional data modeling and database design skills Strong problem solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on creating high quality deliverables. Candidate will have demonstrated the ability to think and work at the enterprise level, having transformed business requirements into system improvements that ultimately advance the strategic initiatives of a growing organization. 8+ years experience working with healthcare data, specifically within a provider setting. Strong knowledge of RDBMS, multidimensional design, Microsoft SQL Server. Healthcare IT data modeling and enterprise data management experience. Experience with MDM tools and semantic interoperability Translation of business questions and requirements into reports, views, and BI query objects Knowledge of BI tools, and data warehousing concepts and tools Ability to write user requirements, functional and technical specifications for team members. I. Education: Bachelors Degree (B. S.) from four year college or university; Computer Science, Mathematics, or MIS are preferred majors. II. Experience (Type & Length): 8+ years data architecture experience within a healthcare setting. III. Software/Hardware: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and 2008 RDBMS Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and 2008 Integration Services (SSIS) Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and 2008 Analysis Services (SSAS) Knowledge and experience with Transact SQL (stored procedures, triggers, and constraints) Knowledge of Amalga UIS preferred Experience performing data analysis and/or report writing with business intelligence tools Full-time Day shift
