JOB DESCRIPTION -ENTERPRISE NETWORK ENGINEER
(IOT, CONTENT AND CYBER SECURITY).
The PDI Technical Advisor (PDI-TA) addresses the need for additional support required by Cisco Collaboration Specialized Partners in the complex tasks of Planning, Design and Implementation (PDI) of enterprise Cisco Collaboration solutions.
Be part of a team that supports Cisco Partners, and Cisco SE's, on IoT, Cisco content security and Security related issues associated with Planning, Design and Implementation. Build a culture of cooperation, education and trust with the Cisco Partner community.
In this role, you will perform pro-active activities including:
Answer questions from Partners on:
a. Security - ASA, ISE, Content Security products like ESA & WSA and CWS
b. IoT & Wireless - Video Surveillance Manager, Wireless LAN Controllers, Network connectivity ie Cisco's Ruggedized Industrial router and switches configuration and functionality
Review Networking designs, project plans and implementation plans to offer guidance based on best-practices and Cisco Validated Designs
Support online tools for system sizing, compatibility and design.
Educate Partners to locate and use documentation, tools and processes associated with solid planning principals.
Assist partners with plans and executions of highly complex system upgrade and migration activities.
Educate Partner on lifecycle support services available from Cisco Systems, Inc.
And reactive activities, including:
Analyze and troubleshoot issues encountered during staging and implementations (could include building simulated networks in test labs to resolve complex problems and compatibility issues);
Work with engineering, technical marketing, TAC and documentation groups to add or correct documentation; publish tech-tips and best practices and drive product & process improvement initiatives based on lessons learned from Partner cases.
Work with Business Unit teams on deal reviews, Partner mentoring and practice-building projects and service offering opportunities.
Expert level knowledge in TWO or more of the following (3+ preferred):
Wireless LAN Controllers
Identity Services Engine (ISE)
Cisco Access Control (CPAM)
Cisco IP Cameras/ Cisco IP Phones
Cisco Video Surveillance Manager
Content Security - ESA & WSA and CWS
Security - ASA
Cisco CGS 2520, Cisco CGR 2010, ISR819
Past experience or industry knowledge of Partner / Reseller roles; competitive challenges and strong business acumen.
Active participant in virtual technology teams within Advanced Services and/or SE Virtual Teams.
In-depth knowledge of enterprise network management, network availability and capacity planning preferred
CCIE Security or R CCNP Security or R&S
Some travel to team meetings in centralized location will be required.
6-8 years experience in networkengineering or telecommunications support environment.
