THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Enterprise Data Office is an exciting new area at M&T Bank, led by the Chief Data Officer. Our purpose is to execute the Banks Enterprise Data Strategy, delivering reliable and governed centralized data. We are looking for dynamic individuals who have a mind for business and the technical prowess to understand what business data means and why Data Governance is so important.



POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Enterprise Party Hub (EPH) Business Manager is a person with broad analytical and reporting business experience spanning across many business lines. This person must have a demonstrated customer focus evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer, builds strong customer relationships, creates processes with a customer viewpoint, partners with all business lines to help shape their future initiatives. The incumbent must have significant experience utilizing customer level data to support sales, customer service, compliance, marketing, and other operations.



This includes but is not limited to:

Plan, organize and monitor program deliverables including providing timely updates and notifications of potential roadblocks to EPH management team

Establish an operating model to ensure parties are appropriately matched/merged in EPH

Socialize and educate the purpose and usefulness of the EPH solution to demonstrate the value through business use cases.

Participate on project teams where EPH will be leveraged, analyze differences between EPH and existing forms of customer aggregation

Create demand among our business partners to leverage the EPH solution for new technology solutions and migrate current operational systems across the bank to leverage EPC as a single source of truth

Work with lines of business to determine incremental requirements (ie. groupings) that are needed to support internal use-cases

Create consistency and credibility of the data by partnering with Data Governance team to champion new Critical Data Elements, standardize data, develop QA/QC checks and ensure policies and procedures are followed within the hub

Performing other related assignments as requested by management



NATURE AND SCOPE:

The position requires substantial interaction with internal contacts at senior management level, as well as external contacts in order to obtain pertinent information.

The position acts as liaison between department and other bank personnel on various projects.

The incumbent is responsible for the overall coordination and management of projects at the division and department level to include day-to-day project supervision of project participants.

This position will be responsible for concurrently managing large scale projects. Will need to know how to work within the organization and gain an understanding of the perspectives of others.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelors degree and a minimum of 7 years relevant work experience or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 11 years higher education and/or work experience.

High skill proficiency in the use of spreadsheets, graphing, and presentations with a working knowledge of financial models

Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex issues to technical and non-technical audiences that include peers, partners, and senior IT and Business management

Strong analytical ability and creative problem solving skills

Excellent project management skills able to lead and influence complex projects and make recommendations at all levels of the company, work in a team environment.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Extensive knowledge of Data Management/Data Quality and experience in utilizing customer, account and transaction data through hands-on analysis and reporting within financial services

Extensive knowledge of usage of Customer/Entity aggregated information across the enterprise.

Deep experience in usage of customer data for business consumption (reporting, analysis, etc)

MBA or another advanced degree
