Job Description

RTI International s Clinical Research Informatics Program is seeking an entry-level Programmer/Analyst to support database development, data management, web, and desktop-based applications development for a range of multi-site clinical research networks. Responsibilities include assisting with the development of systems for the collection, processing, managing, presenting, and analyzing clinical or epidemiological data within a web-based architecture. Duties may also include assisting with the development, testing and management of clinical data and systems using a variety of off-the-shelf products and in-house software applications.

* Assist with the design and the development of web-based clinical trial management tools using Microsoft web and database technologies;

* Assist with the programming and maintenance of data management, randomization, document management, tracking and various systems for research network coordination;

* Assist with the design and development of web and data integration applications using ASP.Net technologies;

* Assist with developing test cases and performing user acceptance testing;

* Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team environment with data managers, system developers and staff from other disciplines to develop solutions to complex clinical trial issues;


Education and Experience:

* B.S. in Health Informatics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field and 1 year experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.


* Programming experience using Microsoft technologies, such as Visual Studio (ASP.NET, C#, VB.NET), SQL Server, SQL Server Integration Services, Web Services, JavaScript or other related web technologies;

* Excellent oral and written communication skills.

* To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require now, or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status.


* Experience with developing DotNetNuke modules is a plus;

* Experience with client-side web technologies, such as HTML5, jQuery, and AngularJS;

* Experience with clinical electronic data capture systems (e.g. REDCap);

* Experience developing integrated systems or providing data management for clinical trials, multi-site or data coordinating center studies.
