SALES DEVELOPMENT DESCRIPTION:

This is an entry level opportunity for future potential outside sales / customer facing role. This position is accountable for learning the company's basic products, pricing processes, industry, and how to apply knowledge to customer's needs. Develops and practices personal skills used in promoting, selling, or resolving issues relating to a broad range of Schneider Electric products.



Develops knowledge of mechanical systems and Building Management Systems, Schneider Electric products, and competitive products and their strengths, weaknesses and applications. Develops knowledge of industry channels, local market conditions, market segment strategies, customers, and business philosophy and

processes/procedures.

The individual in this position will develop technical solutions based on customers specifications and drawings and make additional recommendations for improved value or performance. Individual will demonstrate sales skills including account profiling and management, and develop and maintain positive customer relationships. May coordinate with various functions within the company to ensure customer requests are handled appropriately and in a timely manner. Day to day activities include the following:



Prioritize estimates in order to meet sales schedule
Prepare clear and concise estimates by gathering all necessary information, including prints and specs, and RFIs, defining feasibility of projects and profitability
Establish and maintain subcontractor and vendor relationships
Coordinate and verify subcontractor quotations and scopes of work.
Develop technical proposals, detailed scope letters and optimal system designs
May attend sales calls, pre-bid meetings and site walk-throughs for potential projects
Negotiate with sub-contractors in order to strengthen chances of project award.
Consults with Operations, Engineering and Sales groups throughout the estimation process
Attends various meetings throughout project, including hand-off and design review
Reconcile final job costs

REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires four-year degree, preferably in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience in engineering, technical sales or marketing. Preferred candidate will have knowledge of mechanical systems, possess high-energy can do attitude, technical aptitude and have knowledge of Building Management Systems. Strong, communication, time management, and organizational skills a must. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications.

EDUCATION:

Four-year (4) degree in Mechanical Engineering related technical field.



SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent mechanical skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including but not limited to, Access, Project, Word and Excel

Strong organizational skill

Capable of reading blueprints

Good conceptual aptitude
