OVERVIEW:The position is responsible for the implementation of safety procedures and programs designed to ensure regulatory compliance and the minimization of industrial injuries and illnesses, worker’s compensation costs, property damage and general liability losses.Bunge is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Minorities/Women/Veterans/DisabledESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:• Spend a minimum of 40% of time walking around observing and communicating with employees and managers reinforcing safe work behaviors• Ensure compliance with Bunge safety policies and OSHA regulations by all employees, contractors and visitors• Create, update, and manage the plant health and safety programs including the Process Safety Management and Site Safety Plan• Develop, implement and track proactive safety measures• Stay current for newly emerging safety regulations and prepare for the implementation of the same• Coordinate safety committee activities• Administer and maintain Safe Start Program for all Bunge Employees• Develop and deliver safety training for employees, contractors and visitors• Assist facility in conducting effective incident investigation and implementation of appropriate corrective measures• Manage worker’s compensation claims in conjunction Corporate WC Administrator and with insurance companies and/or service companies• Work with engineering, production and maintenance employees to provide engineering controls to resolve safety concerns arrived from Incident reports, Job Hazard Analyses and near misses, where this isn’t practical Administrative and PPE controls will be initiated• Manage fire protection and security systems to protect from property loss• Serve as liaison with insurance company inspectors; coordinate responses to recommendations• Issue and review of Bunge safety permits, i.e., hot work, confined space and air blow down.• Manage all records relating to safety per Bunge and OSHA guidelines• Familiarity with Collective Bargaining Agreement• Duties assigned or requested by management• Manage the site’s environmental program in compliance with Federal, State and local jurisdictions


• Completion of a post-secondary education in a technical discipline or previous related industry experience is desired• 3 to 5 years of applicable experience preferred.• Demonstrated commitment and attention to principals of a safe & healthy work environment• Proven leadership and supervisory skills within a team-oriented environment• Demonstrated success in the application of safety standards, compliance with safety regulations, and the promotion of a safe working environment• Demonstrated excellent communication skills• Demonstrated proficiency in the use of personal computers and related business software such as Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes• Willing to relocate for future job opportunities• Bilingual language skills in English and Spanish preferred Work Schedule: Traditional but must be flexible to ensure plant operations are supported
