Department: Environmental Services

Position Summary:
Performs terminal clean functions using the appropriate sterile or non-sterile techniques.
Position Expecations & Responsibilities:


Expected to be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Expected to have basic mathematical skills.
Expected to be aware of responsibilities in the event of fire, disaster or HOBS alert.
Expected to have knowledge of OSHA Classification A.
Expected to attend and participate in at least 50% of department staff meetings as well as participate in hospital meetings, forums and seminars.
Expected to ensure cleanliness of assigned areas to include: dusting, wiping, polishing, moping, vacuuming, empyting and removing trash.
Expected to replenish room supplies and stock assigned areas.
Expected to complete timely discharge bed cleaning, as evidenced by bed tracking system.
Expected to log in and out of the bed tracker for break times.
Expected to change needle box, when needed.
Expected to complete logs and forms as necessary.
Expected to aseptic clean the patients rooms and bathrooms using prescribed methods.
Expected to observe/report any deficiencies of equipment, furniture, or fixtures.
Expected to assure that all chemicals are properly labeled and are used for intended purposes.
Expected to perform the proper and efficient germicidal cleaning of assigned areas.
Expected to recognize the influence of beliefs and cultures on behaviors and accept strengths and limitations in others.
Expected to exhibit adaptability, flexibility, self control and maturity in work and behavior.
Expected to exhibit calm responsiveness to emergency or stressful situations.
Expected to recognize situations which require notification of a supervisor.
Expected to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Expected to be able to write routine reports and correspondence.
Expected to assist with on-the-job training for new employees.
Expected to assist the Supervisor and Team Leader by assuming limited job responsibilities in their absence at their request.
Minimum Education and/or Experience:

One to three months direct labor or lead person experience in a job-related field preferred. Hotel or hospital experience is preferred.
Licensure/Regulation/Certification: N/A
*Incumbent may be required to perform emergency duty before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency, crisis situation or disaster (man-made or natural) including evacuation sites.
*The person in this position may be asked to work in a smoke-free location, and is expected to adhere to all smoking restrictions.
