Job Description

Dow Corning seeks an environmental engineer to be part of our Air Quality Team at our Midland, MI manufacturing facilities. As an Environmental Engineer you will coordinate with building inspection to ensure Dow Corning's facilities are in compliance with federal and state law and you will be responsible for implementing new regulations at our site.

As an Environmental Engineer you will provide on-going documentation and support and will be involved in change management, training and work flow development. You will perform regulation reviews and will interact with outside consultants to interpret regulations and drive change.

As an environmental engineer you will assist/lead the appropriate projects identified to maintain current compliance. You will assist and lead the change management around new government regulations that impact the operations at the Midland Site. You will also lead a multi-generation six sigma project to ensure transition to a new set of regulations around MON and ensure compliance and maintenance with all MON regulations.

As an Air Quality Engineer you will work with internal environmental engineers and consultants on air/water permit issues and work with the environmental group on site projects and change management programs.
In this role you will also work closely with Site Manufacturing Supply Chains on capital expense projects aimed at compliance of applicable regulations. You will also participate in Lead Detection and Repair (LDAR) for future compliance and assist with the on-going workflows on site around the LDAR program
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
In this role you will:

* Train and educate environmental team members on MACT standards (esp. MON and HON)
* Train and educate production building environmental engineers as well as operators around Air/water permits and MACT standards as needed
* Maintain expertise in MACT standards by attending training in these areas
* Make site on call duty after hours as Environmental issues arise throughout the year
* Air permit review/authoring
* Water Permit review/authoring

A Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Chemical, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering is required. In addition, a minimum of 3 years of Air Quality Clean Air Act Experience at a Chemical Manufacturing Site is required. In addition, the selected candidate must have experience with the following MACT Standards:
* Hazardous Organic NESHAPs (HON)
* Pharmaceutical Production (PHARMA)
* Pesticide Active Ingredient (PAI)
* Miscellaneous Organic NESHAP (MON)
* Organic Liquid Distribution (OLD)
* Polymers MACT or other
