JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY Brief Description
This position is responsible for supporting the Rexnord environmental compliance program in a manner that will ensure that the facilities are in compliance with all Federal, State and local environmental laws, regulations, permit requirements and corporate policies. This position will initially focus on Milwaukee-area locations with the potential to assist with other facilities across the United States over time. The primary focus will be on air permitting, wastewater and solid/hazardous waste management programs, it will also support other environmental programs such as chemical management, regulatory reporting, training and management systems. Other responsibilities will include working with operation leaders on activities to improve environmental performance and reduce costs. Knowledge and experience with health and safety topics is beneficial. The ability to travel outside of the Milwaukee area periodically is also beneficial.
Travel to other Milwaukee-area Rexnord sites is estimated to be 50%. Travel beyond the Milwaukee-area is estimated to be 25%.
Work closely with Director Environmental to assist with permitting, reporting, and legal and other requirements associated with regulations related to air, water, and waste regulations.
Provide technical support to facilities for environmental performance, regulatory compliance, process troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
Manage action items and action plans.
Be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
Develop and perform training.
Collect and manage data associated with all environmental requirements, including inspections, sampling, record retention, auditing and permit compliance.
Preparation and submittal of routine regulatory reports, including those associated with EPCRA, hazardous waste, NPDES, air permits, etc.
Coordinate and manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal activities.
Interact with management personnel to implement compliance actions.
Interact with regulatory agencies, as necessary.
Monitor, research and develop plans/systems to comply with new regulations.
Coordinate and manage vendors and consultants.
Knowledge and experience with health and safety topics is beneficial.
Capabilities and Success Factors
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with a major in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering or a closely related field.
Entry-level to 3 years of environmental experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Public speaking skills in order to present environmental training.
Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Must be fluent in English, written and verbal.
