Title:
Scientist I (Environmental)
Education:
BS in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related field. MS a plus.
Hours:
Full-time; part time/on call positions may also be available.
Primary Responsibilities:
Successful candidate will be trained and will become responsible to perform field sampling activities to support environmental investigation, audits, or inquiries in accordance with specific workplans and/or various standard procedures (e.g., ASTM, Federal and State regulation and guidance). Other Scientist I responsibilities may include:
- Assist in processing, managing, and analyzing data,
- Write reports summarizing procedures, methods, observations, and results,
- Conduct oversight of subcontract field services,
- Conduct field analysis of environmental matrices,
- Conduct regulatory and historical research regarding environmental issues,
- Prepare field logs and notes; and
- Conduct quality assurance.Knowledge of New Jersey environmental regulation (N.J.A.C.7:
26E and associated regulation and guidance) is a plus.
Other desired skills and attributes:
Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently at client-controlled sites. OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training.
