UCSF has implemented EpicLink and Epic MyChart web applications which are accessed by patients and community practices via the web. Epic is UCSF Health s Electronic Medical Record which is supported by Information Technology Services (ITS) and Clinical Systems. Epic (APeX) Clinical Systems needs a Web Developer to provide operational support and maintenance the EpicLink and Epic MyChart hosted websites and internal system design. The Developer will occasionally be called on to develop custom programs and designs for UCSF use. In addition, the same developer may support the UCSF users via training and documentation.
The APeX Web Developer (Epic Web) functions as the primary owner of the EpicLink and MyChart web pages and expert for the web application changes. They work under the direction of the Team Lead and/or Manager to configure support the web application and sites. The application analyst develops and documents internal procedures and establishes change control processes for the application.
They function as the primary contact to troubleshoot problems and questions. Successful candidates are skilled communicators who made decisions independently and in collaboration with others up and down the project structure. Attention to detail is a critical skill for this position. Successful candidates enjoy helping other user to learn and adopt to use of the web portals.
The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations is required.

* Bachelor of Science or Arts Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology degree or equivalent or a combination of education and experience
* Demonstrated ability to develop and deploy systems across major organizational units and operating platforms.
* 3+ years programming experience
* 2+ years using version control software
* 1+ years XML experience
* 1+ years database experience
* 1+ years programming with PHP
* 1+ years Linux system administration
* Excellent logic, verbal and math skills
* High functioning team skills, including active listening, rapport building, effective written & verbal communication, receiving and delegating work assignments and escalating and resolving problems
* Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Visio, and Power Point
* Requires flexibility to orient and work in all UCSF Medical Center locations
* 1+ years in training/teaching
* 1+ years documenting technical systems
* 1+ year Epic
* Experience with mobile browser based app development
* Academic medical center experience
