Sodexo Universities has an opportunity for an Executive Chef 2 at Northwestern College located in Orange City, IA. Northwestern College is a private Christian school with an enrollment of approximately 1200 students. Relocation Assistance is Available! $3,000 Sign-On Bonus! Sodexo's food operations include a recently remodeled dining hall for 950 meal plan students, catering and two retail operations including a two-year old coffee shop and The Hub which offers a grill, burrito line, deli line and Simply-to-Go items. As Executive Chef, you will oversee and manage all culinary operations on campus. Reporting to the General Manager, the ideal candidate will have the following preferred skills/background: * 3+ years of culinary management experience, preferably within a campus setting. * Hands-on leadership style in leading, mentoring and training a diverse workforce as well as in upholding Sodexo standards. * Passion for food and innovation. * Proven culinary skills; culinary degree helpful but not required. * Strong understanding of HACCP, food safety and sanitation. * Proven track record of achieving positive employee engagement. * Financial acumen as it relates to food and labor costs/controls. * Experience in Sodexos Food Management System (FMS) (preferred). This position is recognized as the technical expert, teacher and trainer for other chefs and cooks within the account. Selects and develops recipes and other items for clients. Develops menu, implements and trains HACCP, oversees/purchases food, establishes production levels and inventory controls, interviews and hires new chefs, manages/controls food cost issues and offer solutions, may train other chefs outside account. May cook selected items, and plan or price menus. Typically has chefs and cooks reporting to this position. Qualifications & Requirements Basic Education Requirement - Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree Basic Management Experience - 2 years Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc. Sodexo is an EEO/AA/Minority/Female/Disability/Veteran employer.
