Job Description
TITLE:Executive Director, Differentiated Services
LOCATION:Atlanta, GA
REPORTS TO:Vice President, Converged Services and User Experience Design
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
As the Executive Director of Differentiated Services, this individual is responsible for identifying and developing new businesses that aim to disrupt Cox's current business models. This will allow the business to embrace potential points of differentiation through the exploration of weaknesses in the current consumer and business offerings. The successful candidate will have a keen understanding of the latest trends in Internet protocol, Web, mobile, social and entertainment consumption to apply to this discipline. She/he also has insights into customer segmentation and the applicability in influencing changing consumer trends. She/he will translate new initiatives into business cases and apply for funding amongst a broader pool of priorities based on the merits of these new ideas. This person will challenge the status quo of Cox's current service delivery model and will seek weaknesses to exploit these new business opportunities. This individual will also proactively explore external partnerships that also aim to capture share of wallet from Cox's customers.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead our internal process to define and deliver the disruptive services roadmap.
Accountable for generating 3-5 go-to-market business ideas per year.
Owns the idea generation and creation of new business cases.
Works collaboratively with the adjacent growth team to model how new business ideas are processed, categorized and pursued.
Partner with finance to validate new business models and ROI.
Owns the annual budget and planning of disruptive services.
Conducts on-going technology and business assessments of competitive landscape.
Be thoroughly immersed in the Cox brand, what it means to the company and to Customers, and how it comes to life in service interfaces.QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
10+ years in product management/development or new business development in a Fortune 100 Technology and/or communications/entertainment company.
Proven background in managing/designing/interpreting consumer based research.
Strong executive presence.
Ability to gain credibility through leading by influencing across the organization.
Must have a demonstrated track record of making informed business and technology trade-offs.
Collaborative leadership style with the ability to work across a wide-range of business opportunities and disciplines.
Superb written and oral communication skills with an emphasis on business case development.
Proven track record in the ability to bring new services/applications to market, understand their impacts and ROI.
