Department: Administration

The Executive Director, Heart & Vascular Services will be responsible and accountable for the overall planning, development, coordination, implementation, and management of the Northern Michigan Regional Health System Heart & Vascular Service Line which includes, but not limited to: Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiovascular Unit (CVU), Cardiac Rehab, Endovascular Intervention, and Service Line Mid Level Practitioners, with matrix responsibilities to MHVS, Nuclear Medicine, Imaging, Interventional Radiology, Vascular Lab, CT, MR, General Ultrasound, Surgical Services, Stroke Program development, and the coordinating nursing units caring for Service Line patients. The Executive Director will report to the Program Medical Director, Heart & Vascular Services, and will be responsible and accountable for the development and implementation of the clinics within the service line structure.

In collaboration with senior administration, nursing and physician leadership, the Executive Director is also responsible for the ongoing evaluation of the Heart & Vascular Service Line for the health system. The Executive Director provides leadership to develop and achieve assigned goals through efficient and effective clinical, operational and fiscal management and is accountable for ensuring that the Heart & Vascular Service Line is efficiently run by the department s managers in regards to providing quality patient care, financial responsibilities, adequate staffing and scheduling, and accountability. She/he is also accountable for developing and implementing effective programs that assess measure and improve the quality of care delivered to patients.
Education: Masters degree is required.
Licensure: Registered Nurse, Registered Invasive Cardiovascular Specialist, or equivalent.
Experience: A minimum of fifteen (15) years of progressive clinical experience in the heart & vascular service line, including a minimum of ten (10) years experience leading a heart & vascular service line.
Other Job Requirements: Demonstrated skill in a leadership role of building high performance teams that lead change in a competitive business environment. The ability to transform heart & vascular programs by developing and leading expansion projects is highly desirable. Ability to develop and implement business plans and strategic plans with measurable goals. Ability to accurately analyze and synthesize complex quantitative information. Ability to deal with multiple challenges simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required, along with an ability to work with a staff and management team of diverse backgrounds and responsibilities in a value-based organization.
