JOB DESCRIPTIONSet core management budget each year such that funds are allocated towards activities that further the IIC and TCD's progress toward meeting their goals
Review US-based reporting for grant requirements to ensure accuracy and quality
Ensure that US-based payments are made according to the guidelines of the grant and each payment is complete and allowableManage all US-based center staff and contractors to ensure effective performance, high engagement, collaboration, accountability and productive work environment
Manage all US-based IIC and TCD employees and oversee their work streams
Allocate work across the team, with clear strategic goals and deliverables, tracking progress, troubleshooting and pivoting as needed
Oversee the Assistant Director of Fellow Experience and Project Development Manager in strategically planning for fellow recruitment, project development, training design, and post-fellowship engagement
Responsible for creating a positive, high-performing culture that promotes collaboration, creativity, resourcefulness and engagement among staff
Ensure smooth and effective collaboration between staff in Chicago and staff in India
Lead hiring and staffing decisions in the US and India, including staff, interns and volunteers
Collaborate with Harris HR and other stakeholders on campus to design and implement hiring structures in India and beyond
Play a key role in recruiting and onboarding of new staff and contractors. Identify opportunities for professional development and trainings
Conduct performance reviews of all US-based staff and oversee high-level reviews of all India-based staff with the Country Director in India
Lead by example and strive to make the team more productive as a unit
Collaborate with the India Country Director to promote unity across the US- and India-based staff
Align team management techniques and team culture to unify the center across geographic locations
Communicate on effectiveness of shared work-streams and use of collaborative project management tools
Evaluate staff contribution towards the progress of projects based on combined feedback from all staff
Encourage staff to troubleshoot collaboratively with India and US resources to achieve maximum outcome
Oversee All Grants, Financial Records, the Budget and Accounting
With support from the Project Development Manager, ensure all grant writing or management efforts are coordinated with other aspects of the program, especially project development and fellowship experience, the Harris Development team and the University's ARD Office
With support from the Project Development Manager, oversee the tracking and monitoring of grant efforts as well as all matters (legal, operational, compliance, etc.) related to contracts, grants and cooperative agreements
Ensure the accuracy of all budgeting, accounting and administrative activities
Oversee the development of annual budgets and reporting materials by the Finance Manager and execution assistance from other staff
Ensure smooth administrative processes, including payment schedules, between the IIC, TCD, other administrative partners on campus, and Fellows
Hold responsibility for risk management, compliance and governance
