Job Description
Provides strategic system leadership for Employee Health Services as well as operational oversight for main campus employee health services. Responsible for coordinating, managing, planning and developing operations to provide high quality employee health services that meet all regulatory requirements. Through subordinate supervisory personnel, directs the operational and financial activities of main campus Occupational Health Services (OHS). Develops and implements strategic plans and annual operating goals consistent with the strategic direction, objectives and policies of the Detroit Medical Center. Directs the development and implementation of policies and procedures for the DMC s Employee Health Services. Assures collection, monitoring and reporting of data and health information practices to assure proper custodianship of employee and commercial client health records as well as all required regulatory reporting. Responsible for the privacy portion of the OSHA 300 log for all sites. Assures effective disability management through excellent communication with appropriate internal and external contacts, timely and relevant medical specialty assessments and organizational strategies which maximize employee health and productivity. Measures and assesses performance. As requested, assists in long range goal development. Coordinates the promotion of the OHS program to potential commercial clients; prepares bids and manages contractual arrangements; interfaces with hospital/physicians, emergency department and outpatient services to ensure appropriate patient care and optimum service to client employers. Oversees the development and presentation of OHS related didactic programs for national and international clients. Provides oversight for billing and receivables management for all commercial clients. Oversees or directs the development and/or revision of department procedures/protocols. Approves personnel actions such as hires, fires, disciplines, etc. Ensures the timely completion of performance appraisals. Develops current to intermediate goals and measures for the department.

Monitors activities for and ensures compliance with laws, government regulations, OSHA, Joint Commission requirements and DMC policies. As directed, implements external and internal audit recommendations. Ensures hospital departments achieve objectives for diversity of their suppliers.

Minimum Qualifications
1.Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, Business or related Occupational Health and Safety field, or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

2.Five to seven years of progressively more responsible leadership experience in an occupational or ambulatory health care facility.

3.If degree is in nursing, licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Michigan, or qualified to obtain licensure.
