* Position Summary:

* The Executive Director of Support Services will support City of Hope's overall mission in academics, research, and clinical care\. This executive will lead the system\-wide strategy, planning, development and management of support services operations\. Responsible for ensuring that departments provide services which the achievement of the highest levels of quality and service for patients\. He/She is primarily responsible for overall planning, development, coordination, implementation, and management of all administrative functions, services, and related business development activities in order to drive market responsive support services:
Laundry and Linen, Security, Food and Nutritional Services, Parking/Transportation, Retail Services, Environmental Services, Hope Village, Capital Planning, and Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Operations, as well as Activation of new Construction\. Importantly, he/she will be focused on ensuring high levels of customer service, strong physician partnerships and an engaged workforce in the delivery of care and services\. Define, lead, and serve as a role model for an organizational culture that embraces collaboration, compassion, integrity, service with a sense of urgency, intellectual curiosity, and excellence\. This executive will work closely with other senior leaders throughout City of Hope to drive the patient experience and provide high quality, safe, and value based care\. This executive will also develop relationships in a diverse organization and foster open communications in order to establish a strong partnership with patients and their families, physicians, nurses, and administrative professionals\. The Executive Director of Support Services will provide leadership and actively participate in the development and implementation of strategic, tactical, program, and operational planning\. Utilizes forecasting and planning processes to identify capital and technology acquisitions and program development opportunities which achieve desired enterprise growth related to capacity and capability of services offered, ensuring the delivery of services that are responsive to the needs of City of Hope\. Directs and oversees financial stewardship with an emphasis on providing efficient utilization of resources\. The Executive Director of Support Services will manage a team of over 300 FTE's and an annual operating budget in excess of $12MM\. He/She will also promote high performance expectations for the leadership/management team consistent with the aim of improving the patient experience, quality of care, and efficiency of care\. Directs and ensures the effective identification, recruitment, development, and maintenance of talent for current and future organization needs in order to achieve goals and objectives\. Sets clear expectations and holds team members accountable for producing desired outcomes\. Motivates and develops team members and promotes teamwork\. The Executive Director ensures that activities and/or operations are appropriately integrated with the organizational strategic plan\. Will ensure the provision of quality care and services through the cost effective management of the facility\.*

* Support Services Strategic Plan

* + Lead the development of the enterprise Support Services strategic plan in concert with the City of Hope Master Campus Plan in concert with SLT and the organization's strategic plan\. + Develop and execute plan and timeline to implement a long term transformation plan\. + Lead partner for strategic planning process, communicating the vision/strategy to key leaders throughout City of Hope's various business units and facilitates in meetings to foster collaborative partnerships\. + Supports the success of the enterprise by effectively contributing to and utilizing leading healthcare practices, actively sharing new learning and innovation, and by assuring business practices are consistent with City of Hope's mission\.*
* Day to Day Operational Oversight
*
* + Ensure team has proficient knowledge in current and future regulatory/accreditation requirements\. + Develops, monitors, and meets departmental financial goals and budget allocations for labor, supplies, and capital projects\. Aggressively mitigate all variances to budget\. + Serve as a role model to his/her team members by demonstrating ethical and appropriate behavior for a healthcare environment to include but not limited to patient's rights and privacy, dignity, and maintaining confidential information\. + Ensure the integration of quality, service and efficiency improvements into day\-to\-day operations\. + Work closely with Legal to minimize lease risk\. + Oversee tracking, trending, and analysis of departmental reporting and data, and report regularly or as needed to EOC/EOT Committees\. + Maintain high level of professional and ethical relations with law enforcement agencies, staff, patients/patients families, visitors, vendors, and contractors\. + Support the successful operational implementation of new technologies and systems\. + Advance a culture of safety by ensuring all prescribed safety precautions and procedures are followed in order to avoid accidents or exposure to illness\. + Performs other related duties as assigned\.\.*

* Position Qualifications:

* Minimum Education
*
* + ### Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, or related field\. + Advanced degree preferred\.*
* Minimum Experience
*
* + Minimum of 10 years of experience in roles of progressive responsibility\. + Minimum 3 \(3\) years of experience as a senior leader with in a large scale health care delivery system; preferably in an integrated system\. + Minimum 1 \(1\) year of experience in hospital operations leadership including oversight of support services operations\.*
