The Executive Producer Special Projects ensure that writing style, content, and presentation meet station standards. Requires working closely with other Executive Producers, news managers and other departments. Work performed is for all media platforms and initiatives, including for example: on-air, web, digital and social media.

II. Essential Job Functions
Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results
- Manages execution, look, and style of special projects to meet brand, research, and ratings objectives.
- Maintains editorial control through review of scripts, graphics and video for newscasts.
- In addition to providing creative leadership, will be responsible for managing staff on a day-to-day basis, and assists with recruitment.
- Produces/manages special events and projects as assigned by news director.
- Coordinates with creative services on stories promotion

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.
Education:
Bachelor s degree in Journalism or related field or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience:
Minimum five years experience as producer.
Must have extensive experience as a medium or large market producer.
Experience in managing large coverage initiatives and projects preferred.
Management or supervisory experience preferred.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must have strong news judgment and an expert understanding of libel and fairness issues.
- Ability to be calm and decisive under pressure.
- Must be able to motivate and lead veteran employees.
- Strong writing and writing coaching skills required.
- Ability to conceptualize and execute strong visual newscast elements.
- Strong graphics and production skills required.
- Must be passionate about coaching good producing and writing.
