Executive Producer - ReqCode 4470

WFTS-TV, a Scripps owned ABC affliate is accepting resumes for a temporary Executive Producer position. Assignment will begin about April 1, 2012 and end August 31, 2012.

Example of Duties Performed:

1. Plan, structure, produce and prepare ABC Action News coverage of the GOP convention in Tampa and associated events.
2. Produce and edit editorial content directly to various platforms.
3. Work with news staff to conceptualize, coordinate and approve political coverage to conform to station policies, practices and procedures.
4. Maintain and track database of Tampa political events, coverage and contacts.
5. Work with Assignment Editors and newsroom managers to assign stories and monitor story coverage.
6. Perform other duties as needed and directed by News Management.

Requirements:

1. Education: Bachelors degree in journalism or related field.
2. Experience: Minimum 3 years experience as a television news producer in mid to large market.Previous experience in successfully planning and covering a major news event of the scale of the GOP convention.
3. Skills/Abilities: Must work well in stressful situations. Meeting pressure of daily deadlines. Must be self-motivated and adaptable to changing schedules. Excellent writing, spelling and typing skills required. Must have good creative and editorial judgment. Mastery of journalistic ethics and libel laws. Must work well with news personnel, and other station employees and the general public. Must be available for shift changes, nights weekends and/or holidays. Knowledge of iNews computer system preferred.
