Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford is the heart and soul of Stanford Children s Health. Nationally ranked and internationally recognized, our 311-bed hospital is devoted entirely to pediatrics and obstetrics. Our six centers of excellence provide comprehensive services and deep expertise in key obstetric and pediatric areas: brain & behavior, cancer, heart, pregnancy & newborn, pulmonary and transplant. We also provide an additional, wide range of services for babies, kids and pregnant moms.

As an initiative of Packard 2.0, Stanford Children s Health is opening a new, state-of-the-art hospital in 2017 and repurposing the existing hospital in its continued success in providing and transforming advanced patient care and treatment to the surrounding communities. The Expansion Educator will be a member of the Packard 2.0 Education Team and will work with all stakeholders impacted by the opening of the expansion, including physicians, LPCH leadership, Super Users, clinical, support, and ancillary staff and volunteers to achieve the required competencies to meet licensing and provide safe patient care in the new facility. The Expansion Educator is responsible for analyzing learning needs, designing appropriate learning resources and coordinating and supporting the training efforts required to activate the new hospital at opening and supporting clinical success in the initial phase of post-move implementation. The role will be under the general supervision of the Sr. Expansion Educator. This role ensures the completion of assigned items under the project, within budget, on schedule, while meeting all project objective and appropriate governmental regulations. The role also acts as a liaison between clients/users and all other project participants including consultants, contractors, vendors, and outside jurisdictional agencies.

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Service Standards of the Hospital(s).
Reviews workflow analyses and consults with front line departments to clarify learning needs and identify competency outcomes for those elements (safety, equipment, work flow) that are new / different in the new facility.
Applies current principles of instructional design, workplace learning and usability in the planning, design and implementation of education programs.
Plans and prepares learning resources for use in Packard 2.0 face-to-face training programs, e-learning modules and performance support resources (e.g. checklists, tip sheets, Quick Reference Guides).
Collaborates with Education Team Content Developer to design and oversee production of learning resources.
Manages the implementation of orientation sessions to achieve the required competencies to meet licensing and provide safe patient care in the new facility.
Teaches in both formal and informal settings using appropriate methodologies and strategies.
Tracks training completion rates in assigned departments with department management.
Evaluates learning outcomes and develops reports on the effectiveness of Packard 2.0 training and orientation sessions.
Maintains alignment of work efforts with overarching Education Team and Packard 2.0 Project Management Office.
Ensures that educational programs are congruent with Packard 2.0 Education and Training Guiding Principles.
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education: Bachelor s degree in work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.
