GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

The primary responsibility of General Managers is to maintain and develop the overall health and quality of the THINK Together program in all school sites and programs in their assigned Regions. General Managers are responsible for the implementation of THINK Together's base curricula and all THINK Together policies and procedures across all domains of Regional operation - first and foremost, delivery of the program, but also all operational activities related to the assigned Region.

In conjunction with Home Office specialists, General Managers oversee their regional offices, regional hiring and employee management issues, volunteer recruitment, budget and resource utilization, customer satisfaction and site-related matters. General Managers are responsible for quality assurance and retention of partners, including schools, school districts and other local stakeholders. They also plan for and communicate resource requirements.

General Managers support Area Supervisors and Regional Office staff so that they can do their jobs to support and maintain quality implementation at the school site level - they are stewards of the program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

PROGRAM : General Managers must support quality program implementation. General Managers:

* Work with the Chief Program Officer to ensure that program design, curriculum and support is of excellent quality and in alignment with the needs of our school partners
* Communicate with superintendents and school administrators as needed to maintain strong working relationships
* Attend regular governance meetings with school district partners
* Ensure compliance with California Department of Education requirements for After School Education and Safety Programs, 21st Century Community Learning Center Programs, and other CDE-funded programs, as required and appropriate
* Participate in appropriate after school-related meetings and activities sponsored by the CDE and the After School Regional Lead system
* Ensure that contractual obligations to school districts, partners and other funders are met, as required
* Monitor relationships between THINK Together staff, and school and district-level personnel and parents
* Support and mentor Area Supervisors
* Oversee all scheduling and key decision making at service sites
* Visit sites as needed to ensure high quality program implementation and to coach Area Supervisors and other staff
* Oversee the appropriate maintenance of comprehensive student and volunteer records and reports as required
* Oversee volunteer recruitment as appropriate for the Region

ADMINISTRATION :

* With the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, plan and manage an appropriate budget, reporting anticipated variances and managing expenditures
* Forecast staffing demand and requirements and devise strategies to fill needs; Oversee recruitment of fulltime and part-time staff and oversee Human Resources matters, including terminations and disciplinary documentation
* Manage direct reports that will likely include a Staff Recruiter, an HR Manager an Area Supervisor for every ten sites, and administrative support staff
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and control risk within acceptable limits
* Suggest opportunities for growth within the Region and support donor and funder opportunities within the Region of influence
* Attend monthly governance meetings with school district partners
* Lead regular Regional All-Staff Meetings for fulltime staff
* Communicate regularly and fully with Home Office staff and attend required meetings

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES :

* Implement other plans or management requirements as needed
* Oversee, direct and review all direct reports and collaborate on management of shared reports.
* Participate in community events
* Supervise, train and develop subordinates in line with the objectives, policies and procedures of the organization
* Complete supervisory responsibilities in a timely and thorough manner
* Maintain highest degree of confidentiality in student, staff and management matters

EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in social service, education or topic area; master's degree highly desirable

At least 10years of increasingly responsible positions within the education environment with at least 5years of hiring and planning duties

Experience as an elementary or middle school principal preferred

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to develop relationships, promote the agency at local and regional events and meetings, and attend the organization's own events and fund-raisers

Must be willing to travel to off-site meetings, trainings, and events

Ability to speak or write a language other than English is helpful, but not required
