Job Description
Privately owned company currently operating several hotels in the Gulf Coast Region is seeking an experienced hands-on hospitality professional with solid experience in franchise properties. Knowledge of the geographic area necessary. Solid experience in food and beverage and events preferable. Excellent operational, financial and sales skills as well as a good understanding of all financial aspects of the industry is required. Candidate should be a well rounded individual with strong leadership, communication and team building skills. Candidate should understand the importance of outstanding customer experience. Other possibilities for this hotel and other properties available.
Primary objective is: To supervise and run the full operation of the hotel as efficiently as possible. To train qualified staff to produce the highest volume of sales and affect the greatest profit while maintaining a high degree of guest satisfaction, confidence and prestige in the service and quality of the hotel. To remain competitive in every area and to produce and achieve budgetary goals. To follow Hotel policies and procedures and maintain a high employee morale. To ensure a good working relationship with the Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance and Food and Beverage Departments by overseeing and guiding the staff through open communications and hands on participation. To deal with guests, event patrons, restaurant patrons, potential guests, and community leaders and maintain the highest ethical standards of operation and quality of services and facilities for the hotel. To oversee every department and the best quality training for every staff member.
To be an active member in the community and to build solid relationships with other nearby businesses.
To be active in sales and operations of the hotel at all times, and to ensure the proper running and sales of the lounge, and 7,000 square feet of meeting space.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include;
- Fully manage the day-to-day hotel operations of a 170 room hotel, restaurant, lounge and 7,000 square feet of meeting space.
- Schedule, Assign, and Delegate work to staff and follow up on completion of worklists
- Walk property daily to maintain highest standard of cleanliness, presentation and organization
- Manage all expenses of hotel effectively & consistently
- Control expenditures and payroll costs
- Supervise purchases, receipts, and inventory of hotel supplies and equipment
- Improve operations, customer service, sales strategies and franchise standards
- Maintain knowledge of the competition, current environment, and industry trends
- Participate in sales efforts and become active member in community
- Work closely with sales department to increase productivity
- Elevate standards of hotel to be the best in its category through innovative methods of marketing and customer service
- Maintain high guest scores, provide excellent guest experience throughout all departments
- Recruit and retain staff, ensure staff is trained on all brand standards, conduct regular staff meetings and training
- Investigate and document incidents properly and follow necessary procedures
- Provide a safe and secure environment for all employees and minimize workers compensation claims
- Enforce corporate policy and procedures and follow proper HR guidelines
- Analyze Profit & Loss statements, payroll reports
- Assist in developing operating budgets
- Forecast and manage revenues effectively
- Communicate with owner on a daily with an email update, and provide reports on a timely basis
- Implement & Execute franchise andor company initiatives
