JOB DESCRIPTION

Description:
Senior/Principal:
Perform engineering evaluations and analyses, and make
engineering decisions for all aspects of assigned tasks.
Responsible for applying measurement science to develop,
document and maintain calibration systems, procedures
and methods for dimensional, optical, and non-contact
measurement and test equipment (M&TE) based on analysis
of measurement accuracy and precision requirements. The
position includes M&TE oversight and support in the
Inspection and Supplier Quality (I&SQ) Organization at
the Bettis Laboratory Site. Specific responsibilities
include:
* Developing calibration procedures and measurement
uncertainties for the calibration of M&TE.
* Collaborating with inspection and engineering
personnel to ensure calibration procedures are
correctly implemented.
* Preparing and maintaining technical and metrological
guidelines.
* Assisting with calibration and repair services by
external vendors and with the purchasing
responsibilities for those services.
* Assisting with replacing and or performing minor
repair work related to M&TE components.
* Working with inspection and management personnel to
identify M&TE needs and procuring such equipment.
* Gain proficiency in the use of sophisticated M&TE
and train inspection personnel in the use of the
equipment.
* Represent I&SQ as the Department Calibration
Representative.
* Support calibration database development and
implementation.
* Analysis of calibration vendor's procedures,
calibration certification reports, and quality
control systems.
Requirements:
Senior:
BS degree in Engineering from an accredited college or
university and a minimum of six years of relevant
experience; or
MS degree in Engineering from an accredited college or
university and a minimum of four years of relevant
experience.
Principal:
BS degree in Engineering from an accredited college or
university and a minimum of nine years of relevant
experience; or
MS degree in Engineering from an accredited college or
university and a minimum of seven years of relevant
experience.
