Job Description

The Export Compliance Specialist prepares export/import license applications and subsequent amendments within requirements of U.S. Government regulations. This position is the central contact for all requests (export licenses and agreements) for assigned programs and/or customers; prioritizes incoming requests in relation to impact on specific program goals and overall goals either an industry or government perspective and objectives of the company;

Key accountabilities include:



Ability to read and comprehend federal export regulations and act accordingly

Responsible for interpreting complex export regulations and applying these regulations to CFBU business and technical operations as well as Operations environment

Ability to coordinate and accomplish tasks of varying complexity through application of technical, administrative and analytical skills

Coordinate with relevant Rolls-Royce IT, Security and Business personnel to ensure databases and integrated business systems comply with US export regulations

Act as a central contact for all requests (export licenses and agreements) for assigned programs and/or customers. Prioritize incoming requests in relation to impact on specific program goals and overall goals either an industry or government perspective and objectives of the company

Respond in a timely manner and resolve export issues/questions generated by inside/outside customers and associated off-site facilities

Interpret relevant U.S. government export regulations and their applicability to Rolls-Royce products and technology; keep abreast of new developments and/or regulations impacting Rolls-Royce business activities

Determine export requirements and prepare required type of authorization. Ensure timely submittal to the appropriate government agency; maintain follow up and facilitate approval of pending authorization with U.S. government agencies

Prepare related internal and external correspondence and interact on a continual basis with Rolls-Royce employees located on-site and off-site, as well as with customers/consignees located globally

Collect and analyze data for status reports to management and proactively assess program managers' export requirements based on their program plans/goals.

Assist in preparation of training materials/handouts, employee presentations/briefings, compliance manuals/memos, and operating procedures. Present training sessions/briefings to employees, customers and/or government representatives as required

Performs all other tasks as assigned


Basic:



Bachelor of Arts or Science degree and 6 years related experience in corporate IT

Demonstrated understanding of commonly used integrated business systems (SAP)

Ability to obtain government security clearance



Preferred:



Experience in aerospace business matters from either an industry or government perspective Experience with US export licensing process and interpreting government regulations

Knowledge and experience using Rolls-Royce IT systems (e.g. SAP, PLM)

Ability to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication capabilities
