JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY Job Description:
Summary: The VUL external wholesaler for the wire house channel will be responsible for generating new and servicing existing relationships with financial advisors within the sales territory. From a product standpoint, this individual will wholesale primarily variable universal life (VUL) insurance from a variety of carriers and present the concept of tax-free asset planning. Wholesaler will be a joint employee of Capitas Midwest, a life insurance brokerage general agency (BGA) and The Leaders Group, Inc., a broker-dealer. Responsibilities: Sales and Relationship Building 1. Articulates to financial advisors the benefits of life insurance solutions for their clients, in particular the story of tax-free asset planning using VUL. 2. Builds strong relationships in the territory and works collaboratively with both Capitas Financial Midwest and The Leaders Group. 3. Continues to improve and enhance sales skills. 4. Engages in insightful investment and insurance discussions that lead the development of trust with financial advisors. 5. Meets both activity requirements and production targets on an ongoing basis. Territory Management 6. Organizes the territory efficiently by focusing on high potential existing and prospective advisors as well as segregating the territory geographically through the development of sales loops. 7. Completes travel and expense reports and other necessary paperwork on a weekly basis. 8. Enters activity data into the CRM database on a regular basis and updates other information into the CRM system as appropriate. 9. Handles related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: 1. Bachelor s degree required. 2. 8+ years of experience in the financial services industry required. Four or more years of intermediary sales/external wholesaling experience and a strong understanding of the wire house channel. 3. Life insurance and FINRA series 6 / 63 or equivalent licenses required. Professional designations and experience in the life insurance marketplace preferred. 4. Must have a proven track record of sales success, or have extremely strong potential for success, in the wire house channel. 5. Extensive travel required within the region ( 70%) and must reside within the sales territory. 6. A strong combination of sales and analytical skills coupled with an energetic and engaging style is required. Must be able to work independently and to communicate clearly and concisely.
