Coburn Technologies, a world leader in lens processing systems and vision diagnostic products, seeks a FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER who specializes in spin-coating systems. Our team of field service engineers is responsible for product installation, product training, site monitoring, technical support and ongoing field service to insure complete success of all product installations at customer sites. They work closely with engineering, operations, sales, and customer service to deliver winning products that meet or exceed targeted revenues, gross margins and customer satisfaction. They also ensure that that those selling, installing and supporting assigned product lines are aware of product features and benefits, software requirements, interconnectivity and other technical issues so that systems are properly set up, operating and understood by customers. Our field engineers also gather and prioritize product and customer requirements, and help identify potential new product development opportunities... they are our eyes and ears with respect to better understanding our customers' needs and requirements.

Their primary duties, with or without reasonable accommodation for persons with disabilities, include:

- Plan, develop and execute product installations and follow-up actions for maximum effectiveness and customer acceptance
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment in the field
- Provide detailed data relative to product installations and customer’s ongoing lens production throughput and yield
- Travel extensively in the USA, and worldwide on an “as needed” basis
- Provide troubleshooting advice to personnel in technical support, field engineering, and sales
- Instruct other field engineers and customers on system interconnectivity, software and hardware issues
- Provide functional support activities for the assigned product lines, including product training
- May help identify and assess new product development opportunities
- Organize beta and pilot programs with early-stage products in development and new releases into market
- Understand competitive product information

REQUIRES:

- Some college level technical training is preferred
- Must have 5 to 10 years of progressive field engineering and/or lens lab experience
- Extensive operationof lens spin-coating systems and AR coating systems
- Must be technically proficient with system troubleshooting and repair of such systems
- Solid people management skills with sound common sense
- Ability to discuss effectively technical and lens production issues with management, associates and customers
- Ability to develop influential relationships with multiple levels within an organization and with customers
- “Can do" winning attitude and passion, goal-driven, drive for success
- Skilled in report writing with emphasis on MS Word, Excel, and other enterprise systems
- Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral); polite, courteous and professional in appearance
- Ability and willingness to travel worldwide (domestic and international)
- Possession of valid driver’s license, credit card and passport in order to travel; no travel restrictions
