Job Description
Architect, design, implement, and test FPGA code for high speed optical networking applications. Duties consist of working with systems engineers to understand feature requirements, developing architectural approaches to problems, simulating solutions in analysis tools, selecting devices based on cost and space limitations, working with schematic capture tools, coding VHDL for Xilinx and Altera FPGA targets, verifying timing and routing constraints, bringing up initial prototypes, testing at the subsystem level, integrating FPGA builds with hardware and software, debugging end-to-end implementations across functional teams, and writing release notes.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------Benefits for contract employees at Engineering Resource Group, Inc. include:- 7 paid holidays- 1 week paid vacation- 401(k) with 50% company matching and only one (1) year vesting period on company's matching portion- Up to 50% company contribution on Aetna health insurance premiums (employee only)See details at www.EngineeringResource.com
Requirements
BSEE/BSCS, MSEE/MSCS preferred. Familiarity with Xilinx and/or Altera
tool chains and with latest generation FPGA technologies including integrated
SERDES and integrated processors. Prior experience coding and debugging
VHDL for OTN, SONET/SDH, Ethernet, and/or Fibre Channel client muxing applications,
including integrating external IP blocks, at data rates ranging from 155Mb/s
to 100Gb/s. Experience with line side transport protocols including G.709/OTN
and OTU-1/2/3/4. Hands-on experience with a variety of telecommunications
test equipment such as OTN, SONET/SDH, Ethernet, and Fibre Channel test
sets. Ability to work in a fast-paced R&D environment, and interact with
systems engineers, circuit board designers, and software developers.
