JOB DESCRIPTIONFacility Project Manager
The salary for this position is $50,900 - $67,800

Oversees designs, plans, and manages the scheduling of various AFRD facilities maintenance and repair projects; develops scope of work and cost estimates for AFRD facilities projects while maintaining compliance with applicable laws, codes, ordinances and regulations. Provides direction in the operation and maintenance of building systems infrastructure for new and existing facilities under the control of AFRD. Advises on equipment, HVAC, building operation, safety systems equipment and controls. The position requires a team player attitude, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, attention to details and strong project management skills.
Direction received is very general, focuses on end results and is typically collaborative in nature. Makes decisions on technical issues, diagnoses, or procedures in collaboration with supervisors, managers, or Executive Staff. This position reports directly to the Assistant Chief of Technical Services within AFRD and receives general direction regarding routine and standard matters; specific instructions regarding non-routine and highly sensitive matters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. May perform other duties as assigned.
Provides design of structural, mechanical, electrical and electronic systems and equipment; selects building equipment; analyzes investment cost factors, contract bids and unit costs; inspect construction projects; assists in the development of specifications; negotiates prices and recommends award; develops scope of work and cost estimates for projects while maintaining compliance with applicable laws, codes, ordinances and regulations; oversees completion of work in accordance with project scope; provides weekly status updates on pending projects; ensures that project deadlines are met; researches and monitors problems; reviews, evaluates and negotiates various items. Develops and implements emergency planning and assists in business recovery plans; Provides analysis of and recommendations to long and short term budgets relating to facilities systems; Provides assistance to analysis of system problems; maintains liaison with outside consultants, vendors and contractors; performs related duties as assigned.
May make purchasing or resource allocation decisions within organization guidelines. Selects from multiple procedures and methods to accomplish tasks.
May have managerial authority over a group of professional, technical, or administrative employees with multiple intermediate supervisors and/or team leaders.
Bachelor's Degree in Building Construction or related area (Relevant work experience can be substituted for education requirement)
Five (5) years of Construction and/or Project Management related experience
Preferred Education and Experience:
Masters degree in Building Construction or related area and Five (5) years of Construction and/or Project Management related experience including one (1) year of managerial and/or supervisory experience
Licensure and Certifications:
Licensures and certifications directly related to Building Construction and/or Project Management are desirable and preferred
