Title: Federal SQL Database Administrator San Antonio, TX Location: USA TX San Antonio Organization: Federal / US Delivery Center Location: San Antonio, TX TheSan Antonio Delivery Centeris part of the Accenture's US Delivery Center organization, which is comprised of six delivery centers that create client value through innovative technology solutions primarily focused in Application Outsourcing, ERP solutions, Information Management Services, and Net Centric solutions. Our San Antonio Delivery Center employees can expect to: * work with cutting edge technology * deliver high quality solutions across multiple industries * work on a variety of projects ranging in both size and scope * receive continuous training and career development The database administrator is responsible for the efficient and secure operations of the databases across the enterprise. The database administrator works closely with the database engineer and other systems operations support experts and IT professionals on the planning and implementation of security controls, application releases, database upgrades, application upgrades and other required systems maintenance activities. Installs, configures SQL databases and installs requires patches and upgrades Uses monitoring tools to monitor database performance to identify errors and performance problems Conforms to the program's change management process Apply the required security controls and access restrictions to comply with security requirements Manages database security, periodically reviews security logs, and reports security incidents on a timely manner Updates operational documentation, and improves operational processes Works with other system support personnel on security testing activities, and disaster recovery testing Performs routine capacity planning tasks for systems and services. Proactively monitors the environment. Generates reports showing the utilization of servers Adheres to the program's change management, configuration management, security management, and PMO processes Reports to the DBE Key Activities: Provide real time technical support for environments and supported applications and technologies (WebSphere Application Server and Portal, UNIX, IIS) while escalating as necessary to expert level help Capable of developing programs using Java, J2EE, UNIX technologies. Capable of maintaining day to day client activities and correspondence for a short period of time in the absence of direct leadership Ability to grow development skills in Java, UNIX, and web standards (HTML, JSP, XML) Basic Qualifications . 3 years Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration . Bachelors Degree Preferred Qualifications . Bachelors Degree in a technical field . 1 year experience working with enterprise level operations team Candidates who are currently employed by a client of Accenture or an affiliated Accenture business may not be eligible for consideration.
