Field Geophysicist

FIELD GEOPHYSICIST Terracon is looking for an entry level Field Geophysicist to perform geophysical surveys and other geophysical consulting tasks with direction and guidance from senior staff. This is a local full-time position with benefits at Terracon's Wheat Ridge, Colorado office. You must be able to commute to this location daily. We anticipate hiring within two to three weeks. Essential Skills / Abilities / Qualifications Have a Bachelor's degree in a physical science or engineering. Excellent observation and writing skills are a MUST MUST be able to climb stairs and ladders; walk and hike through a variety of types of terrain; and lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds Be extremely organized and have great multi-tasking skills Strong problem solving skills, including solving equipment challenges while in the field Personable and able to communicate with people at all levels, interviewing skills are a MUST Willingness to travel frequently (very seldom on weekends) but up to 50% of the time throughout the week Must be a self-starter, resourceful, and have the ability to work productively and independently on multiple projects at a time under strict deadlines Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Valid Driver's License with minimal infractions within the last 3 years
Other Qualifications that are a Plus Interest supervising and/or mentoring less experienced employees Familiarity with geophysical methods or theory Experience proposing on and/or performing geophysical work Reliable transportation - mileage to and from projects to be paid CDL/DOT driver training, able to drive frequently, pull trailers, etc. OSHA/ HAZWOPER training
