JOB SUMMARY: The Field Representative/Counselor provides short and long term counseling to inmates/clients on a regular basis. Provides advocacy in court for alternative sentencing and effectively writes alternative sentencing reports. Assists inmates/clients with referrals to residential and outpatient programs. Makes appropriate calls to inmates/clients family and significant others, and also provides them with information regarding how the county jail and prison system work.REQUIREMENTS: Certificate in Alcohol/Substance Abuse Counseling. One (1) year successful experience in recovery setting, pastoral setting or legal field.ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Working knowledge of Judaic spiritual principles and Twelve Step Recovery. Working knowledge of drug and alcohol recovery process and procedure, and of criminal justice system Ability to assemble information from a variety of sources and formulate decisions regarding treatment, training, placement and referrals.
